CSA stands for “community-supported agriculture”.  At Gibbet Hill Farm we grow the highest quality seasonal produce for the Webber Restaurant Group restaurants and we are pleased to offer the community an opportunity to join us as CSA members.  We focus on growing beautiful, high quality produce, that is nutrient dense and “beyond organic” (free of all conventional and organic pesticides/herbicides).   Our farm staff has over 25 years of experience growing organic vegetables.

Beginning on June 11th members can pick up their produce share at the Gibbet Hill Farm bull barn, located right behind the Gibbet Hill Grill.  Each week, our farmers harvest approximately 10-20 different crops, and will offer you the option to choose a combination of these vegetables to pack up in  Gibbet Hill Farm tote bag to take home.  Amounts available for each crop will be predetermined by our farmer.  CSA members enter into a deal with the farmer that they will weather the storm of the season. Meaning if the farm thrives the share will thrive, if certain crops fail then the members might feel that as well.  Some weeks there will be some choice involved in what is  available for the pick-up day.  Swapping certain crops out will be available in a trade bin each week, for members who are looking to swap out a certain vegetable they might not care for.

Members can round out their weekly share with an array of pick your own herbs.

Choosing your share:

Our full share is a weekly share containing 8-15 beyond organic crops in a combination of individual items, bunches or weighted foods.  A full share is a great amount of produce for a family of 2-4, depending on how much you cook at home.  Includes pick your own herbs.

Our flex share provides the same benefits as our full share, but with the flexibility to pick up your share on ten different occasions during the 20 week summer month season.   This is ideal for families who travel and are not available throughout the season to make all twenty pick-ups. Members are asked to select their 10 dates and notify the farmer by May 1st, 2020.

Member perks:

  • 50% off coupon (two coupons for full share, one coupon for flex share) to Gibbet Hill Field School classes or Farm Dinners.
  • Weekly farm newsletter including harvest list, chef’s recipes, notes from the field, and more.
  • Member-only events including; CSA orientation, end of the season potluck, volunteer days, and a Gibbet Hill Farm tote bag for pick-ups, and more.

If you know in advance that you will not be able to pick up your share at anytime during a given week, you may arrange for a friend or family member to pick up your share in your place. A CSA member may not pick up more than one share per week even if the previous week’s share was not picked up.

WHAT IS THE FLEX SHARE?

The flex share allows the member to choose ten Thursdays (our distribution day) over the twenty week season that they will pick up their share.  Dates need to be given to the farmers by May 1st, 2020.

Pick your own crops include; herbs (dill, basil, cilantro, parsley) and flowers (for flower share holders).  A few fun suprise crops might be included as well; like hot peppers, and husk cherries.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO PICK UP?

A mesh tote bag will be issued to each Gibbet Hill Farm CSA member, for members to use to pick up their share.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE OR MISS PICKING UP MY SHARE WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE FARMERS?

If you can’t make it in time to pick-up your CSA Share, contact the farm, members will be given contact information for the farm team member who will be coordinating each week.  They may be able to keep it inside until the next day.  If they don’t hear from you before the pick-up time ends, shares will not be held. .  There are no refunds for missed pick-ups or forgotten shares.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY SHARE?

Yes. We don’t need to know that someone else will pick up your share! Just make sure that your friend checks in with our distribution coordinator under your name. If they are not familiar with our CSA, please ask them to read these Frequently Asked Questions.
